Coron, Busuanga and the Calamianes Islands




The municipality Coron is part of the Calamianes Islands, a group of Islands located in the northern part of Palawan. The Calamian Islands are made up by four municipalities, Busuanga, Coron, Culion and Linacapan of wich Coron is the largest. Coron town is not to be confused  with the Island Coron, even though they share the same name Coron Town is actually located on the Island Busuanga wich is the second largest island in Palawan. Coron Island lies about 20 min by boat from the town center.

For long Coron has been a popular destination among dive enthusiast and it has been listed in Forbes Traveler Magazine`s as one of the 10 best scuba diving sites in the world. In recent years, an increasing number of tourists travelling to the Philippines have started to discover that Coron's beauty not only lies under water.
